Drywall Repair | Austin TX | Brightline Remodeling

Bad drywall repair shows under every light fixture. We feather wide, match texture closely, and prime before paint so patches disappear.

Brightline handles drywall scopes ranging from small patches after water damage or accidents through full-room and whole-home hangs as part of larger remodels. The common thread: we don't leave a patch you can find from across the room.

Repair work starts with cutting out a clean square around the damage, back-blocking with scrap to support the patch, and screwing in a piece of drywall to the exact thickness of the surrounding wall. Tape, three coats of joint compound feathered out wide, sanded smooth, primed, then texture-matched to the existing wall. Orange peel, knockdown, smooth Level 5 — we match all of them with a practice board before touching your wall. New hangs use 1/2-inch on walls, 5/8-inch fire-rated on garages and 5/8-inch on ceilings to minimize sag, with proper screw spacing and back-blocking at corners.

Most drywall repairs are visible because the prior contractor skipped one of: back-blocking, feathering wide enough, priming before paint, or matching texture closely. We do all four every time. For water damage repair, we test for moisture and mold remediate before patching so you don't repair over a still-wet problem.

If you need drywall repair in Austin, request a consultation below. Small patches we can often estimate over photos; larger jobs need an on-site visit.

Client Reviews

What clients say about our drywall repair projects.

"Brightline ran the cleanest job site we've ever seen. The schedule slipped by exactly one day across a 14-week project — and they told us about it a week in advance."
Sarah & Mark T. · West Lake Hills
"We interviewed five contractors. Brightline was the only one who walked us through risks before we signed. That honesty paid off all year."
Jennifer R. · Allandale
