Tile Installation | Austin TX | Brightline Remodeling

Beautiful tile fails when the substrate isn't flat, the waterproofing is skipped, or the layout starts in the wrong corner. We obsess over the prep.

Brightline installs porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, marble, glass and mosaic tile across floors, walls, showers, backsplashes and exterior surfaces. We do tile both as a standalone scope and as part of larger kitchen, bath and remodel projects.

Every install starts with substrate prep: a flat plane within 1/8 inch over 10 feet for large-format tile, properly fastened cement board or membrane in wet zones, and full waterproofing in showers (we use Schluter Kerdi or USG Durock systems). Layout is planned to put cuts at the least-visible edges, with full tiles centered on focal points. We back-butter large tiles, use a leveling system to prevent lippage, and grout with sealed grout in floor applications. Showers are slope-tested before tile and water-tested before glass.

Tile is the area where 'experienced installer' matters most. Cheap tile work shows: lippage at grout lines, off-square cuts, grout color mismatched between batches, no sealer on natural stone, no slope to drain. Our installs hold up because the prep underneath them does.

Client Reviews

What clients say about our tile installation projects.

"Brightline ran the cleanest job site we've ever seen. The schedule slipped by exactly one day across a 14-week project — and they told us about it a week in advance."
Sarah & Mark T. · West Lake Hills
"We interviewed five contractors. Brightline was the only one who walked us through risks before we signed. That honesty paid off all year."
Jennifer R. · Allandale

FAQ

Tile Installation questions

Porcelain is denser, harder and less porous — better for wet zones and high traffic. Ceramic is fine for walls and backsplashes.
