Flooring Installation | Austin TX | Brightline Remodeling

Floors are only as good as the subfloor under them. We level, fasten and prep substrate properly so your floors stay flat — no squeaks, no gaps, no cupping.

Flooring is the single largest visual surface in your home and the surface most punished by daily use. A good install starts with what you don't see: a level, properly fastened subfloor, correct moisture readings, the right underlayment for the finish material, and expansion gaps at every wall and transition. Brightline installs hardwood, engineered wood, large-format porcelain tile, natural stone and luxury vinyl plank — and we'll tell you which one is right for your situation, even when it's not what we'd prefer to install.

Solid hardwood gets nailed to plywood subfloor with proper fastener spacing and moisture-matched to the room before install. Engineered wood can be nailed, glued or floated depending on the substrate. Large-format porcelain tile requires a perfectly flat substrate — we use self-leveling underlayment as needed and back-butter tiles over 12 inches to prevent lippage. Natural stone needs a proper sealer plan. LVP is forgiving but still requires expansion gaps and a moisture barrier on slab. Every install ends with shoe molding or scribed trim, transition strips at doorways, and a written care guide.

We install with the long view: floors that look great at year one and still look great at year ten. Our pricing is transparent line-item — material, labor, prep, trim, transitions and waste — so you can compare apples to apples against other bids. Typical Austin flooring projects run $7–$22 per square foot installed depending on material and prep scope.

Client Reviews

What clients say about our flooring installation projects.

"Brightline ran the cleanest job site we've ever seen. The schedule slipped by exactly one day across a 14-week project — and they told us about it a week in advance."
Sarah & Mark T. · West Lake Hills
"We interviewed five contractors. Brightline was the only one who walked us through risks before we signed. That honesty paid off all year."
Jennifer R. · Allandale

FAQ

Flooring Installation questions

For main living areas, engineered white oak holds up well to Austin's humidity swings. For wet zones, large-format porcelain tile. LVP is a smart budget option on slab.
